At 4, Do With Pride In Midst of His Best Season
Published: Friday, August 30, 2019

Add Do With Pride to the growing list of First Dude runners who keep getting better with age. In his first 12 career starts, the gelding bred by Jesus Rodriguez registered just one victory and two thirds, with meager earnings of $13,380. Near the close of the 2018 season, however, he began a seven-month vacation, turning four in the interim. Since making his return in May, he has posted a record of 3-1-2 in eight starts and has added $55,510 to his bank account for a lifetime total of $68,890.

Do With Pride's latest victory came yesterday in a $33,000 starter optional claiming race at 1-3/16th miles over the outer turf course at Colonial Downs. With Horacio Karamanos aboard, the gelding sat second from the outset, with a great deal of daylight between him and the leader. Karamanos moved him on the turn and Do With Pride responded to win by one length victory, earning a check for $18,000. He earned an 'E' rating of 91 with Equibase, best of any of his winning races.
