The rain and sloppy track at Gulfstream Park yesterday proved to be no deterrent for Bahamian Beat, and Emisael Jaramillo took the 3-year-old colt wire-to-wire to score his first victory in four starts.
The Bahamian Squall colt became winner No. 6 for his sire this season and it was worth $19,100 plus a breeder's award for Jacks or Better Farm. Jaramillo shot Bahamian Beat to the lead, and despite putting up fractions of :22.54 and :45.85, the 3/5 shot held off several challengers in the stretch to win by a head in :58.46 seconds.
