Bahamian Squall picked up his first stakes-placed runner yesterday when Bahamian Girl finished third in the 5 1/2-furlong, $75,000 Golden Isles Stakes at Gulfstream Park. Racing over a sloppy track, the 2-year-old filly sat fourth under Luca Panici, made a good bid turning into the stretch, and was outfinished for second in a head bob.
Bahamian Girl, bred by the McKathan Brothers, collected a check for $7,350 and is the leading money-earner among runners by Florida's freshman sires with a bank account of $56,350.
