Bahamian Prince became Bahamian Squall's first repeat winner in his freshman crop with an authoritative victory yesterday, his second straight over the Gulfstream Park turf course.
Luis Saez spotted the 2-year-old gelding in second place down the backstretch and into the turn, then Bahamian Prince proved best in the battle down the lane, winning by three-quarters of a length in a sharp :57.84 for the five furlongs. The check for $22,800 raised his earnings to $50,310. After selling for $40,000 at the OBS June sale, Bahamian Prince has posted a record of 2-0-1 in four starts.
