Bahamian Girl never had a chance yesterday in the $100,000 Desert Vixen at Gulfstream Park, first leg of the Florida Stallion Stakes for fillies. With Luca Panici aboard, the daughter of Bahamian Squall was murdered on the inside in three separate incidents along the backstretch in the six-furlong race, including once when she was banged hard against the inner railing. After dropping about 10 lengths off the pace, Panici got his filly running again and Bahamian Girl closed well to finish fourth, but the leaders were long gone. She earned $6,000 for the gallant effort and lifted her earnings for four races to $62,350.
