Published: Friday, March 18, 2016

Ocala, Florida (March 18, 2016)--- First Dude, Florida’s leading freshman sire, who currently stands fourth on the North American second-crop sire list, proved to be very popular at the recently concluded OBS March Sale in Ocala, Florida. Three First Dude offerings brought six-figure prices for their consigners during the two-day event.

After breezing an eighth of a mile in :09 4/5, Hip #569, a colt out of the Candy Ride mare Fondant, was on many purchasers’ short list. Consigned by Runner’s Dream Farm, Inc., agent Harry Benson was able to acquire him for $210,000, which is 28 times more than First Dude’s $7,500 stud fee.

Hip #497, another colt, breezed his eighth in :10 flat. Out of Dark Rhythm, the stakes-placed dam of the stakes-winning  Lilly Fa Pootz, he was consigned by Crupi’s New Castle Farm, Agent. Lady Sheila Stable, LLC, who campaigned 2015 champion female sprinter La Verdad, dropped the hammer for $200,000.

California-based trainer Mike Machowsky took a liking to Hip #520, who breezed :10 1/5 for the sale. A filly, out of the stakes winner Doc’s Doll, she is a half-sister to stakes winner Gator Brew. Consigned by Best A Luck Farm, LLC, Agent 1, she was purchased for $120,000.

After a successful freshman season, First Dude has started 2016 on a high note, with 12 winners and over $415,000 in progeny earnings. He stands at Donald Dizney’s Double Diamond Farm in Ocala.
