Dude's Sensational Saturday - Part II
Published: Sunday, May 26, 2019

First Dude's sensational Saturday wasn't merely limited to raising his current blazing streak at nine tracks to 14 winners over the past 15 days. In addition, he added two more stakes-placed efforts to his ledger.

At Gulfstream Park, Worth Avenue finished third in the $75,000, 6 1/2-furlong Ana T. Stakes. With Edgard Zayas aboard, the 5-year-old mare broke last in the seven-horse field, moved up on the outside coming to the turn, then closed five lengths on the runner-up from the eighth pole home, only missing second by one length. Her first stakes-placed finish was worth $7,350 to Worth Avenue's bank account, which now stands at $148,663. She has a record of 4-5-3 in 18 starts.

At Evangeline Downs, Kiss That Dude, who had previously finished fourth twice in stakes, came from far back to get up for third at odds of $11.90-1 in the $50,000, seven-furlong Louisiana Legends Distaff Starter Stakes. The 5-year-old Louisiana-bred mare, who sold at OBS three times, collected $5,000 and increased her earnings to $177,300. She's 6-5-6 in 29 starts and gave First Dude five stakes-placed runners in 2019.
