Duo of MdSpWt winners Saturday for First Dude
Published: Sunday, August 2, 2015
First Dude’s stellar first crop continued to impress on Saturday with a pair of 2-year-old maiden special weight winners coming at Saratoga and Gulfstream Park.

The Double Diamond stallion now has a total of four winners and ranks fourth on the Freshman Sire list with $167,388 in progeny earnings to date.

Sticksstatelydude was a two length winner at the always-tough Saratoga meet, coming from seventh after a quarter mile to get the six furlongs on a fast track in 1:11.39 (VIDEO). The winner, bred in Virginia by Canyon Lake Thoroughbreds, is owned by Alvin Haynes, John Ferris and Elizabeth Burchell. The bay colt is a half-brother to six winners, including four-time stakes winner Saturday Nite Ride.

At Gulfstream, Enterprising Lady took a five furlong contest by 1 ¼-lengths after an early speed duel while making her racing debut (VIDEO). Bred in Florida by Milton, Beth and Norman Hendry, Enterprising Lady is out of a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Compassionate, whose dam Adored was a seven-time graded stakes winner of nearly $900,000.
