Enduro's Tigress Fouled on Gulfstream Grass, Stewards Get it Right
Published: Monday, May 13, 2019

One  week after Country House was awarded first place in the Kentucky Derby after a bumping incident in the stretch that didn't involve him, Enduro's Tigress became First Dude's 31st winner of 2019 after a bumping incident that most certainly involved her.

Racing five furlongs on the turf at Gulfstream yesterday, the 3-year-old filly made a monster four-wide run on the turn that carried her right alongside leader Go Girl Gone at the top of the stretch. As the two battled down the lane, Go Girl Gone suddenly made a right turn into Enduro's Tigress and jockey Leonel Reyes had to steady briefly, just long enough for Go Girl Gone to draw off by a length. Reyes quickly got his filly in gear again, but too late to run down the leader. It didn't take long for the stewards to take Go Girl Go's number down and give Enduro's Tigress her well-deserved first victory in her fifth start. She paid $8.60.

The winner's check of $11,600 helped bring First Dude closer to the $1 million mark ($962,643) for the year.
