The 2010 Florida Champion Three-Year-Old, First Dude was among the best of his generation. He won or placed in eight graded stakes including the Preakness (G1), Belmont (G1), Travers (G1), Haskell (G1), Blue Grass (G1) and Hollywood Gold Cup (G1). He beat two-time Horse of the Year Wise Dan, Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Super Saver, top handicap horse Game on Dude and many other superb runners, while banking over $1.4 million in his exceptional career.

Outstanding confirmation, size, temperament and the bone he passes on to his progeny, made First Dude an immediate success at stud, but his heart and gameness are also major factors with his popularity in the breeding shed.

First Dude was Florida’s leading freshman sire in 2015, his progeny earning nearly a million dollars in the first six months he had starters. From his first crop came Flora Dora, the champion three-year-old Florida-bred filly, who has earned $582,402 and Sticksstatelydude, the champion three-year-old Virginia-bred colt, who has banked $326,400.

At this writing, First Dude has sired 91 winners of 142 starters and his progeny have amassed $6,077,115 in earnings!

In 2017 First Dude was booked to a classy book of mares including Happy Honeymoon, the dam of stakes-placed Surprise Wedding, Exonerated, the dam of graded stakes-placed Skye Diamonds a home-bred for Double Diamond Farm, Faithful City, dam of multiple graded stakes winner It’s a Bird, Sing That Song dam of graded stakes winner Brave Dave and Max Speed, a half-sister to Ron the Greek, as well as the dams of blacktype earners Keep the Canoli, Burnum, Areyoutalkintome, Starship Jubilee and Pyrite Green.

Tactical speed is a hallmark of First Dude’s runners and they have the ability to carry it. They are versatile as well, winning sprints and routes on dirt, turf and all-weather racing surfaces and at many different racetracks in the US as well as Europe. First Dude’s progeny have 80 wins in 2017, giving this third-crop sire one of the highest success rate with 65% winners from starters.

With an affordable $10,000 live foal stud fee, First Dude offers breeders the full package. For additional information or to book your mare for the 2018 breeding season contact Melissa Anthony at Double Diamond Farm or visit
