Published: Monday, June 13, 2016

Ocala, Florida (June 13, 2016)-- - Double Diamond Farm’s First Dude, Florida's leading freshman sire in 2015, will be represented by 17 two-year- olds at the upcoming OBS June Sale. His initial crop of juveniles earned nearly $1 million in only six months of racing last year and the popular stallion is back where he left off with a debut two-year- old winner, Historical Tablet, in 2016.

Many of last season’s June Sale graduates have already won, including Expect Greatness, who was a bargain $11,000 purchase and banked $35,962; Eklipsado, knocked down for $16,000, with earnings of $36,220 and $47,000 buy First Magical who is knocking them out with two wins by a combined 18 length in South Korea.

Not just a one-year wonder, First Dude has begun 2016 with a bang, as his progeny have earned $919,191 with 32 victories, including his latest winner, Fire on Fire, also an OBS graduate, a MSW on the turf, Sunday, June 12.

Siring winners on dirt and turf, First Dude's runners have tactical speed and can carry it two turns. Owners, trainers and breeders have come to recognize First Dude as an important sire, not only in his home state of Florida, but coast-to-coast and abroad. In 2014, his weanlings averaged $17,625 at auction with a median price of $10,750. In 2015, his average yearling price jumped to $28,868 with a median price of $18,000. This year, with a proven record of success on the racetrack, First Dude’s two-year- olds have averaged $52,217 with a median price of $30,000.
