After claiming Petulant Delight at Parx Racing back on November 18, trainer Mario Dominguez sent the First Dude gelding to the sidelines for eight months.
Now five, Petulant Delight returned at Parx yesterday and showed that the time off did him a world of good. With Mychel Sanchez riding, the gelding went right to the lead racing a mile and 70 yards and was well in command all the way to the wire, with only one of his rivals even making a minor challenge. Petulant Delight won by a widening seven lengths, paid $9.80, and earned a check for $10,800, which raised his lifetime total to $94,115. His record is 4-4-2 in 20 starts.
First Dude now has a Florida-leading 37 winners this year, and he moved back into second place on the general sire list (in his battle with Brethren) with progeny earnings of $1,028,815.
