Miss Star Lo Gives Long Shot Players a Thrill
Published: Tuesday, April 9, 2019
Sometimes, a horse that doesn't win can give a horseplayer a major thrill. Miss Star Lo is a 5-year-old daughter of First Dude who hadn't won since last July. Yesterday, she went off at 55-1 going 5 1/2 furlongs at Parx Racing and jockey Jomar Garcia had her in a good stalking position coming to the turn. She appeared to be dropping back heading into the stretch, but suddenly Miss Star Lo kicked it into another gear and closed like a shot, but the wire came up a few seconds too soon. She wound up one length behind the winner at the finish, and missed by a neck of catching the 3/2 favorite for second. The show players profited to the tune of $11.60.
