Rogue Too Scores at Indiana Grand; First Dude Approaches $3 Million
Published: Thursday, October 24, 2019

First Dude is less than $12,000 away from reaching the $3 million mark in 2019 progeny earnings after Rogue Too's mile-and-70-yard victory at Indiana Grand under Kendal Sterritt.

The 3-year-old filly sat a comfortable trip tracking the leader before moving three wide on the turn, then she edged away in the stretch to score by 1 1/4 lengths, paying $10.60. The winner's check of $13,200 for her fifth victory raised her earnings to $81,845 on a record of 5-4-2 in 23 starts.

Bred by Rowling Oaks Farm, Rogue Too began her career racing in the colors of her breeder, but she was lost in a claim after her 12th start in February. On July 12, she changed hands again, and won this start in the barn of owner Andrew D. Janszen and trainer Doug Danner.

First Dude's earnings for the year jumped to $2,988,037, and with six runners scheduled to compete today through Saturday, it's a good bet he'll reach his immediate goal somewhere during that stretch.
