Super Dude Sends First Dude Over $3 Million
Published: Saturday, October 26, 2019

Super Dude was unable to match strides with 7/5 favorite Leitone in the seventh race at Belmont Park yesterday, but the 5-year-old wound up second, nearly eight lengths ahead of the third-place finisher, and sent First Dude over the $3 million mark in progeny earnings for the fourth straight year.

The gelding added $13,000 to his ledger, raising his total to $195,730 on a record of 5-4-2 in 14 starts. The payday increased his sire's total to $3,001,037. First Dude's best year was 2018, when he racked up earnings of $4,918,031.

Super Dude was bred by Moreau Bloodstock International and began his racing career in the barn of Lady Sheila Stable, which had purchased him for $200,000 at OBS March in 2016. Due to his excellent record, Super Dude has since changed hands three times, after being claimed out of Friday's race for $50,000 by Paradise Farms Corp.
