Donald Dizney found his passion for the Thoroughbred at Keeneland in Lexington while attending the nearby Eastern Kentucky University on a football scholarship. He was part of the excited infield crowd at Churchill Downs, when a Florida-Bred, Carry Back, triumphed in the 1961 Kentucky Derby. There his dream of owning a Thoroughbred began to stir. His dream came to realization with the purchase of the farm now known as Double Diamond, in 1983.
Dizney posted his 500th win as owner on December 09, 2005.

Always proactive in industry matters concerning the Thoroughbred horseman, Dizney's involvement has been successful on many different levels. He has served multiple terms on the Board of Directors of the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association, often as President. He was instrumental in the passage of legislation that allowed racing on Sunday and the minors bill. He aided in laying the groundwork for inter-track wagering, and in the creation of the Florida-Bred Stakes program. He has also served on committees and boards of TOBA and NTRA, and is currently a member and steward of The Jockey Club. Never one to rest, he continues in his exertions to keep the Florida Thoroughbred industry competitive with programs in other States.

Our standards are high. We take pride in what we do.

Upon establishment of Double Diamond Farm in 1983, Donald Dizney instilled his own philosophy of catering to the horseman.
"Treat our clients the way we expect to be treated”.
Double Diamond continues to uphold that philosophy in every aspect of its daily operation.
“A history of success begins with attention to the individual”.
Double Diamond Farm's history of success reflects
the commitment and attention given to every aspect of raising a Winner.
For client horses, as well as the horses that race under our own silks,
we endeavor to deliver a flexible, high quality breeding and training program.

“Keep moving forward”.
