Three More Winners for First Dude: That's 8 in 5 Days
Published: Tuesday, August 11, 2020

With Gulfstream Park enjoying a dark day and Tampa Bay Downs shuttered until November, First Dude's runners made Monday a day to remember up north, getting two winners in Virginia and another in Pennsylvania. The trio gave the son of Stephen Got Even eight winners in the past five days and lifted him more than $54,000 ahead of Brethren in the fight for second place on Florida's leading sire list.

Do With Pride: The 5-year-old gelding owned and trained by Ramon Aguayo went wire-to-wire at Colonial Downs in a mile and one-eighth starter allowance on the outer turf course for his first victory of the year and became First Dude's 44th winner. He leads Khozan by three in that department. With Julio Correa aboard, Do With Pride won by 1 1/4 lengths in 1:50.07, raising his record to 7-1-5 in 27 starts. He received a 99 Equibase 'E' rating, best of his career, and the $15,600 winner's check for the $4,000 OBS August yearling increased his lifetime total to $144,100.

Miss Star Lo: Breeder Marti Haught, owner of The Tack Shack just north of OBS, had her second First Dude winner in the last eight days (Raining Sunshine is the other) when the 6-year-old mare kicked off the day with a come-from-behind victory in the first race at Parx. It was another owner/trainer success, this one for Jacinto Solis, as Miss Star Lo won for the second time this year and raised her record to 5-3-5 in 34 tries. She was clocked in 1:12.85 for six furlongs and the $9,000 paycheck boosted her total to $87,370.

Dude's Secret: The 5-year-old mare also went wire-to-wire at Colonial Downs, out-gaming the runner-up by a neck with one mile on the inner turf course in 1:39.27. It was the second victory of 2020 for the mare bred by SCF Inc. and she paid $39 while earning a check for $12,000. She also received her highest 'E' rating - a 77 - in 18 lifetime starts.
