Berks is at it again. In 2023, the now 6-year-old First Dude gelding put together a four-race winning streak at Laurel Race Course and Delaware Park. On Sunday, his victory at Laurel stretched his current streak to three in a row, and moved him into 11th place on First Dude’s $200,000 list.

    Jaime Rodriguez was aboard for the latest score, which came at a flat mile over a sloppy track. Berks was fifth and last heading down the backstretch, but he was best coming home and won by three-quarters of a lengths in 1:40.93. He paid $4.40 as favorite and collected a check of $13,800 for owner/breeder Jagger Inc. That jumped his career earnings to $392,320 on a record of 14-1-2 in 33 starts.
