Napa Dude sent First Dude over the $1 million mark in 2025 progeny earnings with a slick come-from-behind ride by Miguel Martinez at Thistledown on Monday. The winner’s share in the one-mile test came to $7,080 and lifted First Dude’s take to $1,006,367.

The 5-year-old gelding bred by Don Dizney was off fifth and raced down the backstretch on the inside, about 10 lengths from the front. Martinez slipped him through with a strong surge on the rail, and Napa Dude took the lead into the stretch, then held it to the wire, scoring by one length in 1:40.65. He paid a generous $26.80 and lifted his earnings to $52,427 on a record of 4-0-5 in 34 starts.
