Charlie’s Wish Just Misses in 2026 Debut at Gulfstream

The first runner from First Dude’s $200,000 club to race in 2026 is Charlie’s Wish, the just-turned 6-year-old mare bred by Three Gin Guys Stable who finished a bang-up second in a $100,000 handicap at Gulfstream Park on New Year’s Day.

With veteran Joe Bravo aboard, 3-1 Charlie’s Wish came from behind with a four-wide move into the stretch, then lost a bang-up stretch duel by a head. The 1 1/8-mile trip over the Tapeta surface went in 1:49.38. She raised her superlative record to 6-8-5 in 26 starts, and the runner-up check for $20,500 lifted her career earnings to a healthy $474,599, good for eighth place on First Dude’s exclusive list.
