Plum Irish: Last Bahamian Squall Winner of 2025, First in 2026

Miguel Vasquz made it two in a row at Gulfstream Park aboard Plum Irish, the 4-year-old Bahamian Squall filly who became her sire’s last winner of 2025, and first winner of 2026.

In a race at five furlongs over the Tapeta surface, Plum Irish broke with the leaders, who reached the quarter in a quick :21.50 and the half in :44.55. Vasquez sent her up on the outside on the turn, she went after the pace-setter in the lane, and went on to score by a length in :56.85.

The filly bred by veterinarian Rod Lundock paid $6 and picked up a check for $14,500, raising her total to $66,060 on a record of 3-2-1 in nine tries.
