Troops Marches from Behind at Gulfstream Park for 4th Score

Troops picked up one of his biggest paychecks in 18 races via a come-from-behind victory in a seven-furlong test over the main track at Gulfstream Park. The 4-year-old Bahamian Squall gelding collected $17,800, lifting his career total to $83,352.

Samy Camacho was aboard Troops, who enjoyed a comfortable trip on the inside tracking the leaders down the backstretch. Camacho swung the gelding three-wide on the turn, and Troops ran down 9/5 favorite Carambaso late to win by half a length in 1:24.43. The gelding bred by Pamela Edel paid $8 for his fourth career victory and earned a 90 Equibase speed figure, best of his 18 races.
