3rd Bahamian Squall Winner Lowers Gulfstream Park Record

Bahamian Squall’s quick start in 2022 stretched into Friday, when Bahamian Rhapsody became winner No. 3 in opening week with a record-breaking run at Gulfstream Park under Javier Castellano.

The 4-year-old filly bred by Linda S. Pastor scored by a neck racing ‘about’ 5 1/2 furlongs over the Tapeta surface after engaging in a head-and-head battle with Bahama Pearl, another daughter of Bahamian Squall. Bahamian Rhapsody proved the better of the two, drawing off at the top of the stretch and holding off several closers at the wire in track-record time of 1:04.92.

The victory was worth $14,700 and raised the filly’s total to $54,350 on a record of 2-4-2 in 12 starts. She paid $25.
