Baha Secret Showing Her Best at Age 6

In her first six career starts, Baha Secret won just once. As a 6-year-old this year, she has started seven times, and racked up three victories.

The latest score for the daughter of Bahamian Squall came over a sloppy track in a 5 1/2-furlong race at Delaware Park with Jesus Rios in the saddle. Baha Secret was bumped leaving the gate and was still able to sit close-up down the backstretch. Nunez let her out with a four-wide run on the turn, and she won the race to the wire by one-half length, clocked in 1:06.51.

The mare bred by Belinda Kitos at Southern Cross Farm paid $4.40 for her second straight score – she had won her Tampa Bay Downs finale. She earned a check of $12,600 for owner/trainer Mauricio Nunez, increasing her total to $72,235 on a record of 4-1-5 in 13 tries.
