Bahamian Dude Finds Success in Canada

It took a change of venue after four starts in Florida for Bahamian Dude to reach his best form. Since arriving in Canada, the 4-year-old gelding bred by Don Dizney has recorded two victories and a second, including yesterday’s score at Fort Erie in which he achieved his best Equibase ‘E’ speed figure of 84.

Pierre Mailhot was aboard the son of Bahamian Squall in a $24,108 allowance race at five furlongs. The gelding was away quickly, hooked up in an early duel with Voyant, then went head-and-head with the 2-1 shot through fractions of :23.02 and :45.77 before prevailing at the wire by a neck, clocked in :58.41.

Bahamian Dude paid $20.40 and earned a check of $9,840 in Canadian funds or $7,614 in U. S. dollars.
