Bahamian Girl Makes It 2 in a Row – by 4 3/4 Lengths

Bahamian Girl continued her march toward the $200,000 mark in earnings via her second straight Charles Town victory at 4 1/2 furlongs, oddly enough, both by 4 3/4 lengths.

The 5-year-old daughter of Bahamian Squall flew out of the gate with apprentice Marshall Mendez, opened up a four-length lead in a :21.68 quarter, and nobody ever got closer. Her final clocking of :51.42 is just 1.33 seconds off the track record set by Florida-bred millionaire Immortal Eyes 11 years ago.

Bahamian Girl, bred by McKathan Brothers, paid $4.60 as favorite and collected a check for $10,140, raising her career total to $176,008. She sports a record of 6-3-4 in 34 starts.
