Charlie’s Wish Misses by a neck in $100,000 Game Face Stakes

Charlie’s Wish became stakes-placed for the third time in her eight-race career, missing her first stakes victory by a neck in the $100,000 Game Face Stakes at Gulfstream Park yesterday.

The 3-year-old daughter of First Dude, sent off as the 8/5 favorite in the race at 6 1/2 furlongs, battled 9/5 second choice Flakes the length of the muddy stretch before losing the win photo. She had previously finished second in the Juvenile Filles Sprint at Gulfstream and the Gasparilla at Tampa Bay Downs.

Charlie’s Wish earned a check for $14,550, raising her career total to $117,970 on a record of 2-4-1. This year, the filly bred by Three Gin Guys Stable is 1-3-0 in five tries.
