With Mychal Sanchez in the irons, Cindy’s Song won for the first time away from Florida after she had five successful efforts at Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs. The 6-year-old daughter of First Dude scored career victory No. 6 going a flat mile at Parx Racing.
Sanchez took the $95,000 OBS June purchase out quickly and she battled head-and-head with 2-1 Tiz Race Day for most of the trip before drawing off in the stretch and winning by 2 1/2 lengths. The mare bred by Ponder Hill was clocked in 1:39.46, paid $14.20 and earned a check for $10,800, bringing her lifetime total to $110,333 on a record of 6-3-3 in 37 starts.
