First Dude Colt Cruises to the Wire on Rail at Parx

In his six-furlong career debut at Keeneland, Time to Cruise was well-bet at odds of 7-1, but he got away 10th and last in the 10-horse field. The 2-year-old Pennsylvania-bred colt by First Dude still made a strong late move to finish fourth, and bettors opted to take him at even money in his second try yesterday, a $50,000 maiden special  at Parx Racing.

With Frankie Pennington aboard, the bettors were proved right as the colt bred by Ocala’s Best A Luck Farm rode the rail for the entire mile and 70-yard trip in the rain, and out-gamed three rivals in deep stretch to win by a head. Time to Cruise, a $40,000 Timonium 2-year-old, earned $30,000 and gave First Dude winner No. 51 for the 2022 season.
