The 5-year-old gelding bred by long-time Canadian horseman Bruno Schickedanz was off third under Rafael Hernandez, and began to close in on the two leaders on the turn. He went 3-wide into the stretch and took the lead, then held on to win by half a length, getting the trip in 1:44.24.

This Dude a Breeze paid $11.50 and collected $17,220 in Canadian funds ($12,453 U. S.), boosting his total to $99,046. He received his best Equibase ‘E’ speed figure of 95, while raising his record to 5-3-4 in 20 starts. He’s been in the top four in 11 of his last 12 efforts.
