Fivefive Six Champ Captures 4th Straight; First Dude’s Runners Six Away From 1,000

First Dude’s runners have won 994 races following the fourth straight victory of Fivefive Six Champ at Mahoning Valley yesterday.

The 5-year-old gelding bred by Tom McCrocklin went wire-to-wire under regular rider Erik Barbaran in a muddy $27,000 allowance optional claimer at a flat mile. Beginning with his 8 1/2-length score on Feb. 1, after Fivefive Six Champ had started 18 times at Gulfstream Park, the $165,000 OBS March (2021) 2-year-old has won his last four by a combined 12 lengths. Yesterday’s 2 1/2-length victory earned him an excellent 106 Equibase speed figure, best of his career.

In his 18 races at Gulfstream, Fivefive Six Champ earned $53,020. His latest check of $16,500 boosted his Mahoning Valley bank account to $59,590, for a career total of $112,610 on a record of 6-1-4 in 22 starts.
