With Brandon Tapara aboard, the 6-year-old First Dude gelding loped along on the lead and zipped past the poles in :22.12, : 44.50 and :56.66 en route to a three-length victory in 1:09.51, less than one second off the track record of 1:08.63.
Fivefive Six Champ, a $165,000 OBS March 2-year-old bred by Tom McCrocklin, raised his imposing record to 13-6-4 in 43 starts. The winner’s check of $15,360 boosted his career total to $257,796, good for 26th place on First Dude’s $200,000 list.
