Hay Hay Paula Comes from Way Back to Score 10th Victory

Hay Hay Paula scored victory No. 10 in her long and successful career, coming from well off the pace in a $28,600 starter optional claimer over the all-weather track at Woodbine.
Jeffery Alderson was aboard the 7-year-old daughter of Bahamian Squall, and they were back in the pack early in the race at seven furlongs. When Alderson let her loose coming to the turn, Hay Hay Paula inhaled the front-runners with a five-wide move and drew off late to win by three-quarters of a length, clocked in 1:24.51.
The mare bred by Pamela Edel paid a generous $41 and earned a check for $15,360 Canadian ($10,940 U. S.), ballooning her career total to $212,304 on a record of 10-2-6 in 38 starts.
