Ready to Runaway and Canterbury Park – A Formidable Duo

Canterbury Park’s all-time money leader, Ready to Runaway, added $30,000 to her bank account last evening, winning the $55,000 Glitter Star Stakes for the third year in a row.

There’s little to be said about the 5-year-old Minnesota-bred First Dude mare that hasn’t been said many times before. She’s now 12-5-3 in 22 career starts, and the two off-the-board finishes came at Oaklawn Park. She’s won eight stakes races at Canterbury.

With Roimes Chirinos aboard once again, Ready to Runaway took the lead at the outset of the mile and one-sixteenth race and never relinquished it, registering her third straight victory. She drew off in the stretch to win by 6 1/4 lengths in 1:43.18.

The multiple stakes-winner bred by Wildcat Ranch has earned $457,736, fifth best among First Dude’s runners.
