Sweet Nola Runs Winning Streak to 4

Nothing changed for Sweet Nola after she completed a three-race winning streak at Tampa Bay Downs and owner/trainer Juan Arriagada shipped her to Presque Isle. The 5-year-old mare by First Dude bred by Frank Mermenstein and Tom McCrocklin destroyed the field in her first try in Pennsylvania – winning by 8 1/2 lengths in a wire-to-wire performance under Israel Rodriguez. Considering the streak, her $6.20 payoff was quite generous.
Sweet Nola raced a mile on the all-weather track in 1:37.40 and earned $11,400 for Arriagada, lifting her career total to $133,504 on a record of 27-7-5-1, $78,170 coming this year. She’s won her last four by a combined total of 18 1/2 lengths.
