The 5-year-old gelding bred by Trilogy Stable and Eddie Plesa added $19,600 to his bank account, and his new total of $295,030 moved him into 15th place among his sire’s runners.

    One of the country’s leading riders – Jose Ortiz – was aboard Famous Gent for his 5 1/2-furlong trip over the Tapeta surface. The gelding ran down 6/5 favorite Competitive Saint nearing the wire and won by three-quarters of a length, clocked in 1:03.15. His record jumped to 7-6-10 in 38 starts, and $128,390 of his earnings have come this year.
