Gran Edition at Arapahoe: 2-for-2 by 21 Lengths

When Gran Edition romped by 12 lengths racing seven furlongs in his first start at Arapahoe Park two weeks ago, it marked his third victory, and first since December of 2022 at Mountaineer Park, where he has campaigned for most of his career.

Yesterday, the First Dude 5-year-old bred by Ponder Hill showed that victory No. 3 was no fluke by repeating his peformance at Arapahoe, this time winning by 8 1/2 lengths. In the first score, David Cardoso guided Gran Edition from fourth place with a strong run on the turn, completing seven furlongs in 1:25.73; this time he came from 10 lengths behind in second place with the same type of run turning for home, winning in 1:25.32.

Gran Edition is owned and trained by Juan Chavez – he paid $3.60 and now sports a record of 4-2-6 in 27 starts.
