After finishing third and second in his previous two starts, Happyisashappydoes, a member of First Dude’s $200,000 club, made it to the winner’s circle with a wire-to-wire beauty under Israel Rodriguez at Presque Isle Downs.

The 6-year-old gelding owned and bred by Eddy R. and Linda Martinez took the lead right out of the gate and led every step of the way in the $23,000 starter optional claimer at 1 1/16 miles over the all-weather track. Happyisashappydoes won by 4 1/4 lengths in 1:43.03, less than two seconds off the track record. He paid $2.80 and collected a check for $13,800, increasing his lifetime total to $259,715, good for 27th place on the First Dude list.

Happyisashappydoes now sports a record of 8-10-3 in 32 starts and will make his next start out of a new barn, after being claimed for $17,500.
