Neigh Dude’s on a Roll; Won 3 of His Last 4

Neigh Dude didn’t get to the winner’s circle in three tries as a 2-year-old, but he’s more than made up for it this season with three victories in four starts.

The First Dude gelding bred by Porter Racing Stable scored No. 3 at Delaware Park yesterday after previous victories at Penn National and Laurel Park. In the lone loss he was fouled on the final turn and lost all chance.

Veteran Jeremy Rose was aboard yesterday for the race at 5 1/2 furlongs, and Neigh Dude was off third, following pace-setter Golden Aviator by four lengths down the backstretch. He closed the gap quickly on the turn but Golden Aviator dug in gamely until Neigh Dude’s final burst nailed him nearing the wire. The $2,000 Timonium October yearling won by three-quarters of a length in a time of 1:06.10, paid $4.20 as favorite and collected a check for $15,750, which lifted his total to $44,850.
