Speedy Dudette Breaks Her Streak with Wire-to-Wire Score in the Mud

Speedy Dudette relished the muddy oval at Fair Grounds on Saturday and broke a losing streak dating back to March of 2022.

In a race that came off the grass and went at a mile and 70 yards over the main track, the 6-year-old Louisiana-bred daughter of First Dude made every pole a winning one under Aubrie Green after lulling the field to sleep with a first quarter in :25.14. She then went on to score by two lengths, clocked in 1:44.44, without being seriously threatened.

Speedy Dudette paid a generous $17.40, while collecting a check for $36,000, which raised her total to $177,040 on a record of 4-3-5 in 16 starts, all made in Louisiana. Her previous three victories came in succession early in 2022.
