Super Dude Gets 12th Victory; Passes $500,000 Mark

Super Dude is now nine years old and he’s won 12 races while doing a good imitation of the Arkansas Traveler. He’s captured two races at Laurel, one at Pimlico, two at Saratoga, one at Delaware, one at Parx, one at Oaklawn, two at Aqueduct, and, after yesterday’s smart score, two at Penn National.

Inoel Beato was aboard the gelding bred by Moreau Bloodstock in yesterday’s race at 1 1/16 miles. Super Dude was off third, sat a good stalking trip down the backstretch and when Beato asked him to run, the gelding sprinted away from the field and won by 3 1/2 widening lengths. The $200,000 OBS March 2-year-old raised his record to 12-12-13 in 63 starts, and the $6,000 check increased his career total to $504,262.

In becoming his sire’s 36th winner of 2023, Super Dude left First Dude just $75,000 short of the $2 million mark in progeny earnings for the year.
