Super Dude Grabs 11th Career Victory

After winning the fourth race at Penn National last night, Super Dude increased his career earnings to $448,930, which places him sixth among all First Dude runners. The 8-year-old gelding now sports a record of 11-7-10 in 46 starts, and he’s one of six runners for his sire who have won at least 10 races. He’s tied for third with Rogue Too in that category, the pair trailing only Starship Apollo (16 winners) and Ready to Runaway (13 winners).

In his latest score, jockey Adam Bowman was content to sit fifth with Super Dude in the early going of the one-mile race over the main track. When Bowman let him out on the turn, the $200,000 OBS March 2016 purchase swept past the stalkers with a five-wide move, then ran down the leader late to get up by a neck. He paid $6.20 and earned a check of $10,860 for owner/trainer Miguel Rodriguez, boosting his 2022 haul to $44,970.
