First Dude: 3 Winners in 3 Days as Main Dude Romps

Main Dude made it three winners in three days for First Dude with a convincing victory at Louisiana Downs yesterday after the race came off the grass and went at a mile and 70 yards over a muddy track.

Jose Guerrero was aboard the 3-year-old Louisiana-bred colt, who left quickly from the No. 9 post and took over the lead midway on the first turn. After a half in :48.61, Main Dude opened up daylight, then coasted to the finish nearly six lengths in front without receiving a serious threat.

It was the second victory in his last three starts for the gelding bred by Lynn and Chris Boutte and sold for $10,000 as an OBS October yearling. He paid $11.60 and earned a check for $10,800.
